The Problem
With how Gen-Y is always connected to the internet, it is harder for businesses to advertise to this particular crowd, and traditional advertising methods just aren’t working as well as they used to. Gen-Y is practically getting everything they need from the internet.
Proximity’s Social Media Solution/Recommendation
Proximity’s focus group results showed that most people are welcoming of the presence of businesses on Facebook. Some participants agreed that businesses joining the site are a good idea because they can reach bigger audience than they normally could through newspapers, magazine and radio.
The report will focus on how Gen-Y actually uses Facebook, and how well certain well-known businesses have fared on Facebook, both well known business and small, local ones.
